We started with one hot, unhappy back seat.
Breezely began the way most good things do, with a problem we could not stop thinking about.
A few summers ago I was driving my daughter home on one of those afternoons where the air feels heavy before you even leave the parking lot. Up front the vents were blasting and I was comfortable. But every time I glanced in the mirror she was flushed, squirming, and miserable. The cool air simply was not reaching the back.
So I tried everything. The clip-on fans rattled, slipped off every bump, and ran flat by the time we hit the highway. Cracking the windows let in heat, noise, and bugs. Nothing was actually built for the one seat that needed it most.
So we set out to build the fan we wished existed.
Small enough to disappear on a headrest. Quiet enough that a sleeping baby stays asleep. Strong enough to actually reach the back row. And simple enough to strap on in seconds, in any car, with no tools at all.
It took longer than we expected. We went through motors that hummed too loud, straps that did not hold, and grilles that looked cheap. We kept going until it felt right in the hand and right on the road. That became Breezely.
